Ввиду активной цифровой трансформации высшего медицинского образования происходит переосмысление традиционных педагогических подходов, что обуславливает поиск более гибких и доступных педагогических инструментов. В этом контексте стало набирать популярность FOAMed (Free Open Access Medical Education) – международное движение за свободное, открытое медицинское образование. Данный литературный обзор направлен на анализ существующих модальностей, которые используются в рамках FOAMed, включая подкасты, видеоконтент, социальные сети и блоги. Кроме того, был проведен анализ их образовательного потенциала.</p></sec><sec><title>Материалы и методы</title><p>Материалы и методы. Для проведения информационного поиска мы использовали крупнейшую международную базу научных публикаций PubMed. Поиск статей осуществлялся по ключевым словам «FOAMed», «Medical Education», «Digital pedagogy», «Podcast», «Vodcast», «Social media», «Free Open Access Medical Education». Поиск был сосредоточен на публикациях, посвященных образованию студентов-медиков, ординаторов, практикующих врачей и специалистов среднего медицинского образования. Было найдено 864 научных публикаций за последние 10 лет, 32 из которых использовались в данном литературном обзоре, так как имели полнотекстовую версию и соответствовали цели данного обзора.</p></sec><sec><title>Результаты</title><p>Результаты. Проведённый обзор показывает, что FOAMed включает разнообразные образовательные модальности – подкасты, видеоконтент, социальные сети, блоги, – каждая из которых обладает своими педагогическими преимуществами и потенциальными ограничениями. Эти форматы не только дополняют традиционное образование, но и формируют новую образовательную среду, где активность, мотивация и доступность знаний играют ключевую роль. Особую значимость FOAMed приобретает в контексте медийной активности преподавателей высшего медицинского образования. Это открывает возможности для расширения образовательного влияния, формирования профессионального имиджа, развития педагогических инноваций и построения глобального сетевого взаимодействия. Преподаватель становится не просто носителем знаний, но активным участником цифрового образовательного поля, способным создавать, распространять и осмыслять знания в современной медиапарадигме.</p></sec><sec><title>Заключение</title><p>Заключение. FOAMed может стать важной компонентой педагогической деятельности и образовательной стратегии медицинского вуза, особенно в условиях гибридного и дистанционного обучения. Также были выявлены перспективы включения FOAMed в официальные образовательные программы и направления для дальнейших исследований.</p></sec></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><sec><title>Purpose of the research</title><p>Purpose of the research. The rapid digital transformation of higher medical education is leading to a rethinking of traditional pedagogical approaches, necessitating a search for more flexible and accessible teaching tools. In this context, FOAMed (Free Open Access Medical Education), an international movement promoting free and open medical education, has gained popularity. This literature review aims to analyze existing modalities used within FOAMed, including podcasts, video content, social media, and blogs. Furthermore, an analysis of their educational potential was conducted.</p></sec><sec><title>Materials and methods</title><p>Materials and methods. For the information search, we used PubMed, the largest international database of scientific publications. Articles were searched using the keywords “FOAMed”, “Medical Education”, “Digital pedagogy”, “Podcast”, “Vodcast”, “Social media”, and “Free Open Access Medical Education”. The search was focused on publications dedicated to the education of medical students, interns, practicing physicians, and mid-level medical professionals. 864 scientific publications from the past 10 years were identified, 32 of which were used in this literature review because they were available in full text and met the objectives of this review.</p></sec><sec><title>Results</title><p>Results. The review shows that FOAMed encompasses a variety of educational modalities – podcasts, video content, social media, and blogs – each with its own pedagogical advantages and potential limitations. These formats not only complement traditional education but also create a new educational environment where activity, motivation, and knowledge accessibility play a key role. FOAMed is particularly significant in the context of the media activity of the Faculty of higher medical education. This opens up opportunities for expanding educational influence, shaping professional image, developing pedagogical innovations, and creating global networking. The lecturer becomes not just knowledge holder but also an active participant in the digital educational field, capable of creating, disseminating, and interpreting knowledge within the modern media paradigm.</p></sec><sec><title>Conclusion</title><p>Conclusion. FOAMed has the potential to become an important component of the teaching activities and educational strategy of the medical university, especially in the context of hybrid and distance learning.
