How will Russian and global education change in the coming decade? What will be the educational environment and student’s educational tracks? Today, the university and each individual teacher are facing new challenges related to the conditions of rapidly altering information society. The article discusses current education development trends extensively affected by the contemporary social tendencies and describes the projected paths of long-term transformation of higher school. 

The work presents an original model of competence-approach education quality evaluation, based on assessment of latent disposal variable, including dynamics. We offer methods for group work arrangement and its quality evaluation. 

In the article the mathematical model of the recovery process data in information systems is considered. We propose a method to optimize the regeneration copies of the database used in the recovery of information.

The article discusses the role of the teacher individuality to motivate students’ work in e-learning educational systems. The analysis concludes that the role of the teacher’s personality is not eliminated, is not replaced by electronics, and goes in a slightly different form, while remaining one of the main motivators of productive work of students in the learning process. 

In article the method, allowing to analyze risks of decrease in quality of professional training on the basis of the developed cognitive map (the weighed oriented graph of concepts and relations between them), formalizing expert estimates is offered. Using fuzzy cognitive maps (FCM) for formalization of opinion of an expert is offered. The article considers the functionality of software to construct the author’s video for its use in distance learning and its audiovisual implementation in the open educational space. 

The paper reviews the problem of automatic analysis, grading and hinting to the student in the questions, where correct answer must be the correct sentence in the target language in which order of words (tokens) is important. Proposed solution consists of combination of lexical analysis and editing distance analysis. Proposed solution was implemented as a CorrectWriting question type to a popular Moodle LMS. Such question type is useful when teaching programming languages and English as foreign language.
